Decisions, Decisions.

We're going through an interesting discussion for a potential new product, now in early prototyping. One of the things we have to figure out is weight and form-factor, and the resulting tradeoffs when it comes to price and physical attributes. For example, we can go down a "bigger" path, for example like the custom mould like the square on the left, with multiple snap-able pieces. This would be a more unique look, better for branding, and a larger size lets us have more shelf front facing area on the package, to grab attention. On the downside, a larger product is...

So our first launch tasting for salted caramel happened on Saturday. All went pretty well, roughly 1 in 4 people who tried went on to buy, lots of good feedback etcBut one funny thing - several times when I asked what they thought of the taste, I got "does it have coconut in it?" or "I can really taste the coconut" Which is weird because:A) there is no coconut in the formulationB) coconut has never come up in the prototype tastingsI was scratching my head until the end of the session when I was packing up and noticed just behind my...

Fascinating new research!Turns out more omnivores support veganism: "...most people already agree with the ethics of veganism and are aware of the benefits of vegan diets to the environment"BUT.... "barriers are practical matters of taste, PRICE, and convenience"Definitely lines up with our mission - to make veganism much more acceptable to the masses one critical aspect is lowering the cost to be competitive with animal-ag.For us, though we are one of the cheapest vegan milky chocs here in Aus, still a ways to go to reach true price parity with big dairy confectionery aisle pricing...#biteforwhatsrighthttps://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/01/200108102257.htm
